Griffin and Sabine: Inspiration

I just gave Miki the Griffin and Sabine Trilogy set I bought her! She was so happy about it and that made me very very happy as well! We read a few pages of the first book and even I was wowed by the creativiy of the book. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone but if you have extra dough (alot of dough, though) or ain't ashamed to shell out moohlah for books, get this one. Griffin and Sabine Trilogy by Nick Bantock. You will definitely not regret buying it. Pretty nice illustrations, concept and story. Strange but still pretty easy to understand. The interior is quite nice. You'll get what I mean when you get one(actually, 3 coz its a trilogy)!

Anyway, going home after I read some of the G&S book, I remembered what Avid was telling me about my art (Film and Animation). We had a long talk about my approach in maing my films. He said I should concentrate in making the film and nothing else. No credit hoarding. No showing of. No BS. Just plain art. I should let the art speak for itself in the sense that when people see it, they'll exclaim "Ah, it's an Ayo", without even reading the credits or whatever. So I guess I got inspired not only by Avid but also by Nick Bantock. I should develop my art in my own style and enrich it as I go along: gone are the days when Films are just products/outlets for my megalomania.

Oh well, inspired by Avid and Bantock, I'm now sketching my newest animated/live action film. I'll do the cartoons this summer (in between my art classes with Avid and my Tuesdays and Thursdays with Ty) and culminate the project with the live action stuff in June. Its going to be entitled "Ayo's Ketches". Pretty cheesy title, huh? Note that Ketches are strange beings that live in a world that can only be entered through a complex drawing of a door in a piece of paper. Strange concept but maybe this would foster my art. Don't worry, I'll keep the promise I made to Mc about making my own Advent Children just before I graduate! (hearty laugh!)

No pics for you guys tonight but maybe in a week, after this school thing blows over! hardy harhar!

Take care!
